Mission of the Republican Guard

The Republican Guard ought to:
- Protect H.E. the President of the Republic and the members of his family in their residences in Lebanon and abroad as well as during their travels.
- Protect Kings, Heads of States, Diplomats, officials and other guests paying visit to His Excellency the President of the Republic.
- Pay due honor and protocol ceremonies for H.E. the President and high ranking Lebanese and foreign officials.
- Secure the Presidential Palace, including its quarters and surroundings, as well as any other residence taken by H.E. the President.
- The Republican Guard is part of the Army Command Reserves.
Therefore:
The Republican Guard's mission consists of :
- Ensuring the security of H.E. the President's residences:
1. The Presidential Palace – Baabda. 2. The Presidential Summer Residence – Beiteddine Palace 3. Any other residence taken by H.E. the President of the Republic.
- Providing the security escort of H.E. the President in his travels.
- Maintaining safety and security at events, national ceremonies and other activities headed or attended by H.E. the President of the Republic.
- Preparing for the visits of H.E. the President of the Republic abroad and taking the necessary organizational and security measures to ensure:
- The President's safety and security during these visits.
- The safety and security of heads of states during their visits to Lebanon.
- The safety and security of important conferences held in Lebanon.
