Scope of this policy

This policy covers the Lebanese Presidency website and the Lebanese Presidency application, including website pages displayed inside the application.

You can read public news without creating an account. Contacting the Presidency, subscribing to updates or submitting a form requires the information needed to provide the requested service.

Information and how it is used

Forms and correspondence

Depending on the form, you may provide your name, email address, telephone number, address, organisation or professional details, and the contents of your message or request. This includes contact forms, palace-visit requests, information-access requests and training enquiries.

This information is used to receive your request, direct it to the responsible Presidency team, process it and respond. The service may send a confirmation to your email address and a notification to the relevant team.

Email subscriptions

Email addresses and subscription choices are used to send the updates you request. You can stop these messages through the unsubscribe process.

Application notifications and technical information

The application uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications. App installation identifiers, messaging tokens and basic device or connection information may be processed to operate notifications, secure the service and diagnose faults. You can control notification permission in your device settings.

Sharing and external content

When you choose to share an article, its title and link are passed to the sharing application you select. That application handles the recipients and delivery. Opening an external website or third-party embedded content may allow that provider to process connection and device information under its own policy.

Service providers and data sharing

Information may be processed by providers of hosting, email, technical support, notification delivery and embedded content, only as needed to operate the website and application and provide the requested service. Google Firebase is used to deliver application notifications.

The Lebanese Presidency does not sell users' personal data. Information may be disclosed to the relevant public authorities when necessary to process a request or when required by law.

Cookies and technical services

The website uses cookies and session information needed for features such as language selection, form security and session continuity. The application's embedded browser may retain cookies and cached content. Servers and service providers may also create technical logs containing the network address, device or browser type, and request time for operation, security and fault diagnosis.

Secure data handling

Appropriate technical and organisational measures are used to protect personal and sensitive data against unauthorised access, use, alteration or disclosure. These measures include secure connections to the website, protection against unauthorised form submissions, limiting access to authorised people and organisations according to their duties, server and system access controls, software updates, and monitoring technical faults and incidents.

Service providers are required to handle information only to provide the agreed services and to apply appropriate safeguards. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security.

Data retention and deletion

Information is retained for as long as necessary to process a request, provide a service and maintain system security, and for any additional period required by official, administrative or legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymised in accordance with established procedures and legal obligations.
